The Rio Art Museum is a space dedicated to culture and visual arts. It was inaugurated on the day that Rio de Janeiro turned 448, on March 1, 2013.

With 15 thousand square meters of construction, the Rio Art Museum offers the people of Rio and tourists around 8 large exhibition rooms, two for each exhibition.

Parallel to the Museum is the Escola do Olhar, a space dedicated to education, where training programs in arts and visual culture are developed with teachers and educators.

These buildings have undergone major renovations in recent years.

Visits to the museum are made from top to bottom, that is, people go up to the top floor and then go down and learn, getting to know the history of Rio de Janeiro.

The Rio Art Museum is located at Praça Mauá, 5, Centro, Rio de Janeiro-RJ.

Tickets to access the Museum cost: R$ 10.00 full price and R$ 5.00 half price. And every Tuesday entry is free.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday, 12:00 to 17:00. Friday to Sunday, 12:00 to 20:00.

The Café and Bistro operate during the same opening hours as the Museum.
